Social Construct

Background

We live in times where knowledge can be consumed like little bite sized pop-tarts. People pick up ideas and words without going through the process of learning the subject matter. 

Currently there is a strong civil rights movement going world wide. Topics are race, sex and sexuality. While some fight against discrimination and violence, others have gone off the rails. 

Activist use the concept of the social construct without understanding it. They use the logic of 'since everything is a social construct, devised by man, everything is not real, and can be changed'. The result is a massive spawn of new sexual 'identities'. 

Activists claim that man and woman are not real, but restrictive concepts thought up by ?the powers that be? in order to subjugate people.

The painting

The painting depicts a young child, in an observation room in some scientific institute. The floor is made out of LED panels and the wall is a projector screen. Any environment can be projected. 

The child has a doll with plugin holes. It can choose various sex organs, hearts and brains. 

An experiment is conducted to see what the child will pick. 

There are 4 scientists. 

1. The pig symbolizes greed. The will to profit from others without regard. 
2. The robot symbolizes rigidity, dogma and order. The need for some humans to control everything in the last detail. Activists claim their truth is the only one, and anyone who disagrees is a blasphemer (bigot). 
3. The right side figure represents the cold calculating intellect. The pursuit of knowledge without heart.
4. The left figure represents the coward. You. Me. Most people. We go along with it. Whatever truth the next nazi zealot proclaims, if they have power, we obey. 

After the experiment is over, the subject will be put down. The coward has the syringe... Just like in any nazi-type movement those in power want their subjects to be involved in the crime. It is not enough to pay lip service to a regime. One must be guilty as well in order to be fully dominated. However, the coward chickens out and wants to hand the syringe over to you.

The current simulation running in the room are the fires of hell.
